Rope-access window cleaning in Canada with rope transfer

This is a really cool building. I get pretty bored with straightforward rigging and this building doesn't have much of that. I love working vacations. Especially with a view like this. There were 2 bears on the patio the night before so that was my boss at the end emerging from behind a tree playing a bear roar on a Bluetooth speaker trying to scare me. Post-construction rope access high-rise window cleaning with rigging
Просмотров 36 тыс.3 года назад
I haven't made a video for a while because most buildings are basically the same thing but this post-construction cleaning is a bit different. I don't use a metal scraper at all or any chemicals on these windows. Just 0000 steel wool and a small plastic scraper. I come across so many windows on buildings that have been scratched like crazy by the window cleaner when they did the construction cl...
Rope access window cleaning with rigging and lots of the drop.

Another big building, about 35 stories. I find making a load share this way is much faster than building Y hangs and it equalizes nicely. I'm also finally using a Sorbo channel now and I don't know how I ever cleaned windows before without one! Never going back! The clips are pretty annoying though. The main reason I liked the Ninja is easy rubber changes. I don't think I would risk changing th...
Rope access window cleaning the 3rd highest residential building in Alberta as of 2019.

I was talked about on my favorite radio show The Signal on CBC Radio 2l. It was an amazing show but the host Laurie Brown decided to retire the show after a decade of awesome music. I managed to record it both times :) This building has a slight overhang so it can be a little more unnerving hanging out from the building than being up tight against it. Great views of downtown Calgary and the Sad...
Rope access window cleaning 35 story building with rigging.

I'm slowly learning video editing and was going through old files. I found this from a couple years ago in the fall which is why I'm bundled up. This isn't how I would rig anymore so this isn't a how-do video. I have the wrist brace because I hurt my wrist a few months prior. This is one of the higher buildings I've done on ropes. #ropeaccess#windowcleaning#Petzl

First time I've brought my GoPro in a while. This building is in Red Deer in central Alberta. Extremely easy rigging and lots of swing for 3 windows. Was a nice day to just listen to music and clean windows :) I used to use a bluetooth speaker but now I just turn my phone on full volume and keep it in that case on the shoulder strap of my harness. I also really like using these dent pulling suc...
Rope access. First time using a rolling anchor.
Просмотров 1,8 тыс.5 лет назад
It's a good workout in the end but these rolling anchors are pretty fun. I was able to do the other side even in high winds without trashing my windows since I could do big blocks at a time. Sorry for shooting portrait! My phone would have fallen off the ledge if I shot landscape. Don't worry it was just a sub-roof below so my phone wouldn't have hurt anyone even if it did fall :) #ropeaccess #...
Rigging for rope access window cleaning

Lots of climbing around just to rig some simple drops. This is not a how-to video. Also in case you didn't think my carabiners are locked. They are. I only use triple action auto locking carabiners.I forgot my helmet mount at home and dont like using the chest mount over the edge so i just strapped the camera to my bucket at that point. #ropeaccess#windowcleaning#Petzl
Views from Grizzly Peak in Kananaskis
Просмотров 1225 лет назад
Just a quick video of some of the views on the way up and from the summit. I like to call this my Ha Ling Peak. It's pretty much the same difficulty but because it doesn't have a parking lot at the trail head it has way less people on the trail. I also prefer the view. To the south west is Peter Lougheed Provincial Park and Upper and lower Kananaskis Lake. South highway 40 heads all the way dow...

I have my Alberta class 6 license but don't really know how to ride a motorcycle. So I rented a 150cc scooter and took it for a spin from my house all around NW of the city. Ended up coming across a double rainbow! These things are fun, cheap to insure and for gas but it's not enough power. I really need to take a motorcycle course! I got a couple pictures of the rainbow before my phone died. I...

It makes you think about life working up high like that, for me anyway. But you still feel kind of invisible to the rest of the world believe it or not. I’ve worked alone doing this .. “summer job” @ 22 turned into a 20yr career. There will always be windows people don’t / can’t clean. There’s a technique to maneuvering the squeegee , water purity, a superb surfactant & a lot of hard work. & of course you Gotta like “getting hjgh” if you gonna be a window cleaner ! Haha

I've never seen anyone clean glass as thoroughly as you do. However, it is still questionable whether the entire building line can be wiped down with just a few towels. This is not your story, this is a question for all rope workers. In my opinion, instead of cleaning it by continuously using detergent and dirty water, you are contaminating the entire window frame.

Love watching these videos. They help me keep up to date on my rigging abilities. The jobs I take on are typically unconventional, where no one has ever rope accessed it before and there are few, if any fixed anchor points. Often have to get creative, and purchase new equipment. The great thing about no fixed anchor points is that I have virtually no competition to bid against me and I can charge whatever I need to.
